Warez is a shortened leet speak derivative for the plural form of the word "software" meaning copyrighted material traded in violation of its copyright license. The term generally refers to releases by organized groups, as opposed to peer-to-peer file sharing between friends. It normally does not refer to commercial for-profit piracy.
